Ramirez Advocates for Education and Housing Funding in Response to Budget Address

SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Rep. Delia Ramirez, D-Chicago, issues the following statement Wednesday after Gov. Pritzker’s Budget Address in Springfield:

“I applaud the Governor for demanding millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share and his promise to prioritize the needs of Illinoisans above all partisan motives. The people of Illinois deserve better than what they have received these past four years under Rauner.”
“Amongst the most affected, were the minorities groups from low-income communities whose lives depend on state services. Our universities suffered greatly during the Rauner budget crisis. As a result many students had no option than to put their education on hold. We must invest in bettering the lives of those in need, to ensure our state’s stability.”
“Governor Pritzker has given Illinoisans hope that a better tomorrow is to come. I commit to working with my colleagues and across the aisle to introduce a balanced budget that not only addresses pressing issues across the state but also creates a pathway to better our state’s future.”
